HighlightsLOWELL, Mass. –  The UMass Lowell women's basketball team had four players reach double-figure point totals, but it wasn't enough as the team fell to Hartford, 67-56, at Costello Athletic Center.

Freshman
Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) paced the River Hawks (7-10, 1-4) offense with 17 points, one shy of her season-high.
Jasmine McRoy (Gaitherburg, Md.) scored 12 while
Melissa Frase (Tamworth, N.H.) and
Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.) added 10. Rudolph scored six first half points before starting the second half when she scored 11 of her points.

Hartford improves to 9-9 overall and 3-1 in the America East behind Cherelle Moore's 17 points and Morgan Lumb's 13.

UMass Lowell started a stretch of four-of-five at home on the wrong end of a 14-5 run by Hartford over the games opening 10 minutes. Rudolph answered with a personal run of six answered to bring the River Hawks back within nine at 24-15 before the Hawks countered with a push of their own to take a 34-20 lead at the break.

The Hawks would extend their lead to as many as 23 in the opening minutes of the second half before the River Hawks began to chip away at their lead. Frase scored all 10 of her points and added a pair of assists as UML outscored Hartford 21-14 over the final nine minutes.

In addition to their 22 combined points, McRoy and Doucette each added eight rebounds as the River Hawks outrebounded the Hawks 42-34.

The River Hawks have a day off before traveling to New Hampshire to face the Wildcats for a 2 p.m. game.Â
