HighlightsLOWELL, Mass. — The UMass Lowell women's basketball team had their six-game home win streak snapped against Albany, 78-50, at Costello Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
Junior forward 
Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored a team-high 13 points for the River Hawks who fell to 7-8 overall and 1-2 in America East play. The Great Danes climb to 10-6 overall and remain unbeaten in the AE at 3-0.
 
The reigning America East Conference champions dominated the paint with 48 points, anchored by last seasons AE Player of the Year Shereesha Richards who scored 26 points (10-14 FG) and had eight rebounds.
 
Doucette got going early, scoring the teams' first four points as the River Hawks held a 7-6 edge at the first media timeout. The Great Danes responded with eight unanswered and never looked back, closing the half on a 34-11 run. Freshman guard 
Jontay Walton (Buffalo, N.Y.) scored five of her eight points during the UA run, including the first of her two made three-pointers with the shot clock expiring.
 
UAlbany continued the run into the second half when they scored the first ten points, pushing their lead to 48-18. Doucette connected on a three-pointer to end the run and ultimately spark a 20-11 run for the Blue and Red who shot 46.4 percent from the field in the second half.
 
Senior 
Jasmine McRoy (Gaithersburg, Md.) carried over her 4-for-4 shooting performance from deep against UMBC, connecting on three of her six attempts against the Great Danes. McRoy finished second on the team in scoring with 10.
 
The team will travel to Orono, ME for a 7 p.m. tilt against the Black Bears on Wednesday night.
