HighlightsLOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team dropped their second of a four game homestand to Central Connecticut State Saturday afternoon, 81-58 at Costello Athletic Center.

Shannon Samuels (Windsor, Conn.) and forward
Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.) paced the team with Samuels 12-point effort, while Doucette added 11 points. The junior grabbed a team and season-high seven rebounds and added two blocks.

The Blue Devils (2-2) ended their two game skid and took a 7-1 edge in the all-time series with the help of freshman TeJahne Malone's game-high 16 points. CCSU outscored UMass Lowell in the paint (50-20), second chance points (22-6), and bench points (33-16).

Following a 5-for-5 shooting performance against Rhode Island,
Asia Mitchell-Owens' (Roxbury, Mass.) hot hand carried over as she knocked down her first two triples against the Blue Devils, her only field goals of the afternoon.

The River Hawks took the first lead of the game off a pair of free throws from freshman
Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) before CCSU went ahead, a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
