Kevin Boyle (Manalapan, N.J.) recorded 33 saves for his second career shutout and first with the River Hawks to lead the No. 8 ranked UMass Lowell hockey team to a 2-0 victory at New Hampshire on Friday night in Hockey East action at the Whittemore Center.
With the victory, the River Hawks improve to 4-1-1 overall (2-0-0 HEA), while the Wildcats fall to 2-3-0 (0-1-0 HEA).
Boyle's only career shutout coming into the game was with the UMass Minutemen on November 9, 2012 in a 4-0 win vs. Providence at the Mullins Center. The Wildcats outshot UMass Lowell, 33-16, for the game, which included an 11-2 edge in the third period.
Junior forward
A.J. White (Dearborn, Mich.) extended the River Hawks lead to 2-0 with 15:16 left in the second period as he potted his second goal of the season in a wide open net on a back door feed from senior forward

Freshman forward
John Edwardh (Calgary, Alberta) registered his first career goal on a rebound beating Clark low blocker side with 3:20 left in the first period. Sophomore forward
Chris Maniccia (St. Catharines, Ont.) took the initial shot from the blueline. Freshman forward
Jake Kamrass (Atlanta, Ga.) recorded his first collegiate point with an assist on the play.
Boyle made a huge save on the Grayson Downing penalty shot for the Wildcats just 1:56 into the second period, which came on a hooking penalty by
Zack Kamrass.
UNH held a 13-5 shot advantage on the River Hawks heading into the locker room at the end of the first period.
Sophomore forward
Evan Campbell (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) dominated the faceoff circle, winning 17 of 23 (74%) on the night for the River Hawks.
The River Hawks conclude the series with UNH on Saturday, November 1st at the Tsongas Center. Game time is 7 p.m. in Lowell.
