Effertz Picks Up UMass Lowell's Lone Goal

LOWELL, Mass (Sept. 17, 2013) – UMass Lowell goalkeeper Melanie Hopkins (Harwich, Mass.) padded her saves total with 9 on the night, but it was not enough as the River Hawks fell to the visiting Quinnipiac University Bobcats, 3-1. The River Hawks took a 1-0 lead into the half but were unable to hold on as Quinnipiac picked up three goals in the second half. Goal scorers for the Bobcats included Danielle Allan with a pair and Jessica Rusin with the eventual game winner.
