Tyler Toyfair watched the entire Major League Baseball First-Year Draft and came away with disappointment.
This year, he didn't watch any of it, but got the news he wanted when the Arizona Diamondbacks drafted the pitcher from Agawam in the 35th round.
"My coach (University of Massachusetts-Lowell's
Ken Harring) and I thought for sure I'd be drafted last year. I was a top-5 Massachusetts prospect,'' said Toyfair, a 23-year-old right-hander who
graduated from Agawam High School in 2008.
"It was a bummer, but I never stopped working.''
