Amra Elezovic (Manchester, N.H.) combined for 40 points and UMass Lowell defeated Saint Michael's College, 101-74, Wednesday night, at the Ross Sports Center.
The win was UMass Lowell's 10
th in its last 11 games as it improved to 15-5 overall and 12-4 in the NE-10 entering Saturday's home game against Southern New Hampshire (2:00).
Saint Michael's slipped to 8-12 overall and 6-10 in the Conference.
Simmons scored 24 points, dished seven assists and grabbed six rebounds as she shot 10 for 19 in 25 minutes. Elezovic added 16 points and six rebounds on 7-12 field goal shooting in 19 minutes.

Whitney Wilson (Lowell, Mass.) chipped in a season-high 13 points and seven rebounds, shooting 5-5 from the field and 3-3 from the free throw line in only 12 minutes.
The game marked the second time this season that UMass Lowell eclipsed 100 points. The River Hawks are second among NCAA Division II teams in team scoring with 81.9 points per game.
"I thought we played very well offensively with several players contributing," said head coach Sarah Behn. "We also rebounded much better at both ends."
Junior F Alexa Long led Saint Michael's with 18 points and nine rebounds on 6-12 shooting from the floor while freshman G Mackenzie Burud added 15 points and four rebounds. Senior G Megan Olsen scored 10 points, dished 10 assists and grabbed six rebounds while senior F Nicole Adach chipped in 10 points and three assists.
UMass Lowell built a 20-point lead in the first half and never looked back. Leading 11-10 five minutes into the game, the River Hawks embarked on a 25-6 run to post a 36-16 cushion with 8:39 left in the half. Simmons scored 11 of her 17 first-half points in the run.

Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.) meshed a 3-point shot.
The River Hawks shot .513 for the game (40-78), including .564 in the first half (22-39) while Saint Michael's shot .397 (25-63) overall and .382 in the first half (13-34).
