STILLWATER, Okla. (Nov. 26, 2013) - Sophomore G Brittany Martin compiled 31 points and 13 rebounds as No. 23 Oklahoma State defeated UMass Lowell, 103-52, Tuesday night in a non-conference college women's basketball clash at the Gallagher-Iba Arena.

UMass Lowell (0-5) visits No. 10 Nebraska Wednesday night at 8:00 (Eastern Time). Oklahoma State hosts North Texas Sunday at 3:00 (ET).

Junior guards Jasmine McRoy (Gaithersburg, Md.) and Shannon Samuels (Windsor, Conn.) each scored 14 points to lead UMass Lowell. Samuels also added four assists and three steals while converting 10-12 free throw attempts.

Martin converted 15 of 18 field goals and grabbed six offensive rebounds. Senior F Kendra Suttles added 15 points and eight rebounds while shooting 6-10 from the floor. Junior F Liz Donohoe chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and four assists while senior G Tiffany Bias had 11 points and 12 assists.

Oklahoma State shot .531 from the field (43-81) while the River Hawks struggled to a .239 clip (16-67). The Cowgirls also built a 61-36 edge on the boards and outscored UMass Lowell on second chances, 26-9.

Oklahoma opened the game with a 26-5 run behind six points from Martin. Trailing 34-13, UMass Lowell put together a 14-3 spurt to cut the deficit to 37-27 with 4:58 left in the half. McRoy led the run with a layup and a 3-point shot while freshman G Asia Mitchell (Roxbury, Mass.) capped the run with a trey.

Oklahoma State answered with 10 straight points to keep the River Hawks at bay, leading 47-27 with 2:50 left in the half. Martin was again the catalyst with six points.

The Cowgirls opened the second half with 12 straight points - behind five points from Suttles and four from Martin - to post a 63-30 cushion three minutes into the half.
