BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Nov. 23, 2013) – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team fell 77-59 to Saint Francis, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference women's basketball game at the Pope Physical Education Center.Â

Melissa Frase (Tamworth, N.H) who scored 10 points and dished out two assists. Freshman
Kenya Stewart (Hartford, Conn.) had a team-high 10 rebounds.

St. Francis' Eilidh Simpson converted 7-11 from downtown and had a game-high 24 points to lead the Terriers. Sarah Benedetti chipped in 17 points, while Jaymee Veney dropped 14. Leah Fechko gathered 13 rebounds and Jasmin Robinson dished out 10 assists.
St. Francis forced UMass Lowell into 17 turnovers while committing 12. The advantaged led to the Terrier's 20-6 scoring edge in points off turnovers.
UMass Lowell never found its shooting touch, struggling to a .355 clip (22-62) while St. Francis shot .418 (28-67).

St. Francis improved to 3-1 overall and hosts NJIT Tuesday at 7:00. UMass Lowell fell to 0-4.

After trailing 36-26 at halftime, UMass Lowell cut the lead to five a minute into the second half before the Terriers eventually pulled away and had double-digit lead three minutes later, never looking back.

UMass Lowell women's basketball will continue its nine game road trip on Tuesday were they will play at Oklahoma State. Wednesday night the River Hawks will play Nebraska Nov. 26-27; both teams ranked in the top 25 and were NCAA tournament teams last season.
