Box Score
HANOVER, N.H. (Oct. 11, 2013) – Dartmouth College scored goals in either half en route to a 2-0 victory over UMass Lowell Friday afternoon in a non-conference field hockey clash at the Chase Astroturf Field.

With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 1-12 entering Sunday's match against the University of Pennsylvania at Yale University's Johnson Field.

Dartmouth improved to 4-6 overall and hosts Maine Tuesday at 3:00.

Sophomore M Eliza Becker scored one goal and set up another for the Big Green, who opened the scoring with 2:25 left in the first half. Becker passed into the circle to senior M Maggie Scanlon, who chipped low past senior GK Melanie Hopkins (Harwich, Mass.).

Becker doubled Dartmouth's lead in the 60th minute when she pounced on the rebound off a blocked shot by senior D Olivia Quaglia.

"We had a couple breakaways and some corners," said head coach Shannon Hlebichuk. "We just couldn't score. We played a full-field game today with a lot of possession changes. I think we just lacked a little urgency in the attacking 25."

Hopkins stopped seven shots while junior Carrie Dresser (Plaistow, N.H.) had two defensive saves for the River Hawks. Junior GK Ellen Meyer was tested once for Dartmouth.

The Big Green outshot UMass Lowell 24-8 overall (10-1 on target) and built a 10-5 advantage on penalty corners.
