In 1988 the UMass Lowell men's basketball team, led by Lowell's own Leo Parent, captured the National Championship after defeating Alaska-Anchorage. Saturday, the '88 team was back at the Costello Athletic Center to be honored for their amazing season.

The current River Hawks were in top form as well, knocking off NE-10 leader, Assumption College in an 88-76 victory.
