"This milestone is a result of a lot of people's hard work and I happen to get the credit," he added. "I've had great staffs, great administrators and most of all, great players to get our program to this point."
UMass Lowell improved to 8-2 overall and return to Northeast-10 Conference play Sunday at Southern New Hampshire (3:30).
Felician suffered its fifth straight loss and slipped to 4-9 overall.
"Road wins are hard to come by and somehow my guys found a way to gut it out," Herenda said. "We had a number of different combinations out there and we were never able to get into a rhythm. Felician had a lot to do with our inconsistency. They kept us off balance all night."
Bivins converted 7 of 11 field goals while DeSantis hit 5 of 9 field goals, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range and a pair of key late treys to seal the win. Junior G
Akeem Williams (Brockton, Mass.) came off the bench to score 14 points and dish four assists.
Senior G Antoine Obery led Felician with 23 points, 13 rebounds and four assists as he converted 6 of 10 field goals and 11 of 16 free throws. Senior G Anthony Green added 15 points, four rebounds and three steals while junior G Tajric Boggs chipped in 12 points.
UMass Lowell outscored Felician from 3-point range, 24-9 as the River Hawks converted 8 of 22 attempts from behind the arc and Felician 3 of 17. The advantage derailed Felician's 24-17 edge from the free throw line.
The River Hawks also outrebounded the Golden Falcons 14-7 on the offensive glass and outscored them 13-8 on second chances.
UMass Lowell led 62-55 with 5:24 left to play on a put-back dunk by Bivins, but Felician rallied with seven straight points to knot the score 62-62 behind four free throw from Obery and a 3-point shot by junior C Ayotunde Oyeniyi.
The River Hawks, however, counted with a 10-2 spurt behind consecutive 3-point shots by DeSantis and free throws by sophomore G
Chad Holley (New York, N.Y.) and Bivins.
The Golden Falcons cut the deficit to four (72-68) with 54 seconds left, but free throws by freshman G
DJ Mlachnik (Muskego, Wisc.) and DeSantis preserved the lead.
"I am really happy for Greg to lead us to that victory," Herenda noted. "He works his tail off every day and tonight he got what he deserved."
Felician led at the break, 34-33.
