Box Score

Seniors Keanna Santos (Lakeville, Mass.) and Taylor Hartmann (Feeding Hills, Mass.) each scored first half goals as UMass Lowell defeated Pace University, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer clash at Cushing Field.

With the win, UMass Lowell improved to 4-5-2 overall and 3-5-1 in the NE-10 entering Wednesday's game at Bentley (3:30), the first of three straight on the road for the River Hawks.

Sophomore GK Jane Hatzikonstantis (Tewksbury, Mass.) returned from a 2.5-game absence due to injury to earn her third shutout of the season.

Pace slipped to 4-5-3 overall and 4-4-1 in the Conference.

Santos scored her fourth goal of the year in the sixth minute when an attempt by senior M Jenna Costa (North Attleboro, Mass.) was blocked into her path, which she finished nicely.

Costa then set up UMass Lowell's second goal in the 42nd minute when she took a pass from senior F Julia Donigian (Wakefield, Mass.) and fed Hartmann for her first of the year.

UMass Lowell outshot the Setters 24-1 overall and 12-1 on target. Senior GK Courtney Hagen stopped 12 shots while Hatzikonstantis was tested once.
