The UMass Lowell women's and men's basketball teams play the first of two straight Northeast-10 Conference away games tomorrow at Assumption College (1:30/3:30).
The UMass Lowell women (6-11 overall, 4-8 NE-10) enter the game fresh off a 69-55 loss Tuesday night against Le Moyne, which followed a 96-73 win over Mercy and an 88-79 loss to Pace - all at home and in a four-day period.
In Assumption (12-4, 9-3 NE-10), UMass Lowell meets one of the better teams in the Conference. The Greyhounds, who sit in a tie for fourth place, have won two of their last three: a 67-46 win at Franklin Pierce, a 52-45 loss at Saint Anselm and a 71-66 winover Stonehill at home.
The UMass Lowell men (11-5, 7-5 NE-10) enter the weekend winner of five of its last six games, including an 80-51 victory over Le Moyne Tuesday night which was perhaps its most convincing win of the year. Previously, the River Hawks scored a 74-60 win over Pace, which followed a 61-53 loss at Adelphi, and have held four of their last five opponents to 61 points or less.
The River Hawks meet an Assumption squad (7-9, 5-7 NE-10) which has suffered three straight losses: at Franklin Pierce (76-48), at Saint Anselm (83-71) and home against Stonehill (63-51).
UMass Lowell visits Saint Rose Wednesday (5:30/7:30) and returns home Saturday, Jan. 28 against New Haven.
