“It’s a monumental win for us,” said first-year head coach Sarah Behn. “It’s definitely a statement of what we can do. We played well from the tip-off. We followed the game plan.. Our defensive intensity was really superb. We were on the floor, we were getting rebounds.

“We played solid from both ends today,” she added. “It was a great team victory. I think we set the tone and (Franklin Pierce) had to react to that today.”

Senior F Marielle Giroud led Franklin Pierce with 19 points and 10 rebounds while senior C Jewel White added 14 points and seven rebounds while shooting 8-9 from the free throw line.

“Our goal was to hold White to half of her average,” Behn noted. “We did a fabulous job on her.”
