The River Hawks' (12-7, 1-2 NE-10) bats came alive on Wednesday in an 11-7 win over the Bentley Falcons (8-12, 3-2 NE-10) at DeFelice Field. Senior JT Leary (Newburyport, MA) went four-for-five at the plate with five RBI.

UMass Lowell jumped out to an early lead in the contest, plating eight runs in the first four innings. The River Hawks' scoring outburst started in the first inning with a solo home run from Luke Wallace (Yorktown Heights, NY) and an RBI single from Leary. Wallace's round-tripper was his career-best fifth of the season.

In the third, Leary connected on another RBI single and Peter Onorato (Clarence Center, NY) joined with a RBI fielder's choice. Sean Burns (Colchester, VT) ripped a two run double in the fourth, followed by a third RBI single from Leary. Taylor von Kriegenbergh (Stoneham, MA) capped the four-run fourth with an RBI fielder's choice.

Leary struck again in the sixth inning with a two run single followed by an RBI hit from shortstop Jordan Silva (Groveland, MA). All 11 UMass Lowell runs came in the first six innings.

Senior right-hander Dan White (Southboro, MA) turned in a solid performance on the mound, limiting the Falcons to three runs over six innings. White improved to 2-0 on the season while striking out six batters.

White was relieved by Ryan Stoller (Milton, MA) who struggled through a third of an inning and surrendered four runs, three earned. Matt Monico (Tewksbury, MA) closed the game down with two and two-thirds innings of shutout baseball to wrap up the victory.

The River Hawks will look for a repeat performance when they host Bentley tomorrow afternoon at LeLacheur Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
