With the loss, the River Hawks slipped to 8-15 overall and 5-13 in the NE-10 entering Saturday's game at Assumption (1:30). The Skyhawks improved to 18-5 overall (13-5 in the Conference) and visit Southern Connecticut Saturday at 1:30.

Methven converted 4 of 6 field goals, including 4 of 5 from long range.

Stonehill led 50-39 with 8:25 left to play when Rousseau meshed a pair of free throws, but the River Hawks stormed back with an 18-7 run to knot the score, 57-57 with 1:37 left to play. Valentine and Berry each scored six points in the run.

Stonehill converted only one field goal - Methven's milestone 3-pointer with 42 seconds left - over the final 9:51 of the game. The Skyhawks, however, converted 11 of 14 free throws during the span to remain even with the River Hawks.

After Valentine converted the second of two free throws, Methven sank her record 3-point shot to give the Skyhawks a 60-58 lead with 42 seconds left. Freshman F Sha'nay Bushner (Akron, OH) hit the first of two free throws to bring the River Hawks within a point, but Rousseau grabbed the rebound on the second, was fouled, and converted both shots with eight seconds left to give Stonehill a 62-59 lead.

Following a timeout, a trey by Berry was off the mark as time expired.

Stonehill led 31-24 at the break.
