NEW HAVEN, CT - Junior goalkeeper Ryan Richards (Holden, MA) stopped four shots en route to his first clean sheet of the season as UMass Lowell and Southern Connecticut State drew, 0-0, in double overtime Saturday night in a Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer clash at Jess Dow Field.

With the draw, the River Hawks stand at 2-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the NE-10 entering Wednesday night's home match against American International (7:00). Southern Connecticut is 3-2-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the Conference.

The River Hawks outshot Southern Connecticut 12-11 overall - including 10-5 in the second half - and 7-4 on target as freshman G Andrew Esposito turned away all seven attempts in the second half.
