LOWELL, MA - Senior Anthony Gallardo (Methuen, MA), fresh off the Rutgers Invitational and Dowling September Shootout, was named the Northeast-10 Conference Golf Player of the Week, the Conference announced Tuesday.

Gallardo carded consecutive rounds of 72 at Rutgers - two over par - at the Rutgers Golf Course - to finish in a tie for 21st in a field of 128 golfers Friday and Saturday.

UMass Lowell placed 22nd in the 26-team field, which consisted of four Division II colleges.

Gallardo followed with rounds of 78-79 Sunday and Monday in the September Shootout at Long Island National, pitting him in a tie for 28th among 81 players.

The River Hawks placed 11th in the 16-team field.

UMass Lowell returns to Long Island National Saturday and Sunday for the ECAC Championship.
