Following the team's first conference win of the season, UMass Lowell men's lacrosse freshman goalkeeper AJ True (Manchester, N.H.) has been named the America East Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.

In Saturday's 10-8 victory over NJIT, True played a key role in holding the Highlanders to only eight goals on the day, as he made 12 saves in the start in net. The freshman stood out in the third quarter, making four saves while allowing only one goal, helping his squad take a four-goal lead, 9-5, heading into the final period.

This marks the third weekly award of True's young career, having been named the America East Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week once each earlier in the season. For his efforts, True was also tabbed the River Hawk of the Week.

The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.

True and the River Hawks return to action this Saturday, April 19, when they visit the Vermont Catamounts. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Virtue Field in Burlington, Vermont.
