LOWELL, Mass. – After an outstanding two days at the 2024 America East Indoor Track & Field Championships, graduate student
Kenzie Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell women's track & field team has been tabbed River Hawk of the Week.
Doyle could not be stopped throughout the conference championship, becoming the America East Individual Champion in three different events. First, at Day One of the meet on Monday, she won the women's 5K indoor individual championship with a time of 16:12.40, finishing first for the second consecutive year. The next day, she competed in both the 3K and one mile races, winning both individual championships and her second consecutive 3K indoor championship. Her 9:22.05 mark in the 3K gave her the victory by more than four seconds, while she crossed the finish line first in the mile with a time of 4:44.46.
Her impressive performance also earned herself the America East Female Most Outstanding Track Performer Award, as well as the America East Female Coaches' Award, which is given to the student-athlete that earns the most points for their team as an individual.
This marks Doyle's second River Hawk of the Week honor of the year, first winning it on December 6, 2023.
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
