Allen was further elevated to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Corporate Partnerships & Development in the fall of 2017.

Allen arrived at UMass Lowell following five years as the director of athletic development and marketing at Merrimack College where he was responsible for corporate sponsor development - an integral part of revenue generation for the Warrior athletic department. Allen also assisted in other areas of the department, including Warrior camps, the `M' Club and the inaugural Merrimack Athletic Department Golf Tournament. Previously, he held positions at USA Hockey and USA Triathlon Association in Colorado Springs.

At UMass Lowell, Allen is responsible for directing and managing a comprehensive external affairs program, which includes oversight of the athletic department’s corporate partnership, ticketing, communications and development programs. Under his watch, the department has experienced unprecedented success in the corporate partnership and ticketing categories with revenues over one point five million annually.

Allen has been involved in several athletic fundraising campaigns that has resulted in the phased renovation of the Kennedy Family Athletic Center.  Further renovation are forth coming thanks to the generosity of a lead donor to continue to enhance the facility.  In addition to the campaign, the athletic department has led the way in the University’s annual Days of Giving campaign the past five years, with every sport consistently unlocking multiple giving challenges and over 1,000 donors annually participating.

In 2025 UMass Lowell Athletics partnered with Epigram Brewery to launch Rowdys House Lager to further build the brand and unlock additional revenue streams.

Allen currently is a member of the Greater Lowell YMCA Board of Directors and assists with other community fundraising efforts in the Greater Lowell area.   He resides in Chelmsford with his wife Heather and sons Dean and Lukas.
