UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Drew Kelleher has announced the addition of Kyle LaForge to his coaching staff ahead of the 2025 season. Laforge was a five-year member of the River Hawk lacrosse team, graduating in 2022, and has spent the last two years as an assistant coach at Lasell.
"I am thrilled to welcome Kyle LaForge back to the UMass Lowell lacrosse program," said Kelleher. "He is a proud former River Hawk who has done great work the last two years at Lasell. I know that his enthusiasm and passion for River Hawk lacrosse will help our program continue to grow."
During his two years at Lasell, LaForge helped lead the Lasers to a 22-14 record, while developing 11 GNAC All-Conference players and the 2023 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year. The team's success continued into the 2024 season with the help of Laforge, as they led the conference in man-up conversion rate at 56.5% while breaking the program record for both assists and points in a season. Due to the team's success during the 2024 campaign, LaForge was selected to help coach in the 2024 NEILA All-Star Game.
While at UMass Lowell, LaForge earned starts in all five seasons, including starting every game in 2020. During his career, the midfielder scored 33 goals alongside 20 assists for 53 career points, including a personal best 22 points in his final season. Making an impact on both ends of the field, he also collected 73 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers during his time as a River Hawk.
LaForge earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from UMass Lowell in 2022.
