Biography

ABOUT NGUYEN: Tamara Nguyen is five years old and was drafted by the River Hawks in 2015. Tamara suffers from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a genetic disease characterized by progressive loss of lower motor neurons in the spinal cord, resulting in symmetric muscle weakness and atrophy. Tamara is in a wheelchair fulltime and has limited use of her upper extremities because of the weakness but is thrilled to be a part of the River Hawks team.
