2017-18         
 
Indoor Track
Once again he won his first event of the season with a 15’ 0” mark in the pole vault at the 32nd Brown University Alden Invitational… He came in 1st at the Boston University Multi Team Meet with a pole vault distance of 15’ 7” … His pole vault distance of 16’ 4.75” was good enough for 1st place at the Boston Univ. Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational… Placed 1st at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational with a pole vault distance of 16’ 8.75”… A pole vault mark of 15’ 11” also got him 1st place at the Brown University Invitational… Continued his winning streak at the America East Indoor Track & Field Championships with a 1st place pole vault mark of 16’ 2.75”… 

Outdoor Track
With a new personal best mark of 16’ 9.25”, he took home 1st place in the pole vault at the UMass Lowell Invitational… His pole vault mark of 16’ 4.75” netted him 1st place at the 2018 Colonial Relays… To make it three 1st place finishes in a row, his pole vault mark of 15’ 11” got him 1st at the 2018 Dartmouth Outdoor Invitational…. At the George Davis Invitational he made it four in a row with a 1st place finish pole vault distance of 15’ 11”… He came in 1st place at the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a pole vault mark of 15’ 5”…
 
2016-17         
 
Indoor Track
At the first meet of the season for him, the 31st Brown University Alden Invitational, he came away with a 1st place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 14’ 5.25”… He came in 1st at the Boston University Multi-Team Meet with a pole vault throw of 15’ 5”… He followed that up with a 1st place finish at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational with a pole vault mark of 16’ 2.75”… A pole vault distance of 15’ 9” got him 1st place at the 2017 Dartmouth Invitational… He finished in first with an indoor personal best pole vault mark of 16’ 8.75” at the USATF New England Track & Field Championships… Came in 1st at the America East Indoor Track & Field Championships with a pole vault mark of 16’ 6.75”…

Outdoor Track
He started off the outdoor season strong with a 1st place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 16’ 4.75” at the 2017 Colonial Relays… He followed that up with a 1st place finish at the UNH April 8th Meet with a mark of 15’ 5” in the pole vault… His distance of 16’ 0.75” at the 2017 Ocean State Invitational earned him another 1st place finish… He came in 2nd at the America East Outdoor Championships with a mark of 16’ 4.75” in the pole vault…

2015-16         
 
Indoor Track
Popusoi finished 1st in the pole vault at the 30th Brown University Alden Invitational with a distance of 14' 9"... In the 60M at the 30th Brown University Alden Invitational he had a personal best with a time of 7.82... He had a distance of 15' 5.75" in the pole vault at the Tufts Invite #1, finishing in 1st place... His 15' 9" pole vault at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational was a new school record, he finished in 5th ... At the 48th NEICAAA Indoor Track & Field Championships he re-broke the record for pole vault with a distance of 15' 11", finishing in 5th...

Outdoor Track
To start off the outdoor season, he finished in 2nd at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational with a pole vault mark of 15' 7"... He set a new outdoor school record in the pole vault at the UMass Lowell Invitational of 16' 0", finishing in 1st place... For the second time this season he re-broke his own record, this time at the 2016 Dartmouth Outdoor Invitational where he finished in 1st place with a pole vault mark of 16' 1.25"...

Indoor Track        
Started off strong finishing first in the pole vault at the Brown University Alden Invitational with a height of 14’ 5.25”… He had a personal best in the 200 meter at the 2014 Jay Carisella Track & Field Invitational with a time of 25.16… He had a 3rd place finish in the pole vault with a distance of 14’ 7.25” at the 2015 Dartmouth Relays - College/Open… He also earned third place at the Tufts Invite #1 with a pole vault distance of 14’ 1.25”…
 
Greenfield High School: Two-Time Division Winner in the Pole Vault… Two-Time All-States in Pole Vault with heights of 15’6” and 14’… Set a new All-State Meet record in the pole vault with a height of 15’6”… Got third at New England’s with a height of 14’9”… Captain of Track and Field as well as soccer… Sixth at New England’s with a height of 14’3”… Beat previous 10 year old school record of 12’6”… Played varsity soccer… Runner up at Divisional in the Pole Vault with a height of 12’6”… All-Western Mass in Track and Field… Honor Roll Junior and Senior Year…
 
Personal: Son of Valdimir I and Eugenia Popusoi of Greenfield, MA… Goes by the nicknames “Vlad” or “Vova”… Enjoys hanging out with friends and listening to music… Prison Break is his favorite TV show… Real Madrid is his favorite sports team… His favorite sports figure is Cristiano Ronaldo… Calls winning all-states his senior year and setting a new All-State meet record his greatest sports moment… Chose UMass Lowell because they offer a great Criminal Justice program as well as a track and field program… Hopes to work for the Federal Law Enforcement and possibly be a coach… Speaks two languages… Majoring in Criminal Justice…
