Jim Mahoney enters his fourth season as Head Coach of the River Hawk men's golf team in 2015-16, after serving five years (2007-12) as Assistant Coach with UMass Lowell under Head Coach Gary Mucica.

A 1966 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Mahoney played three seasons (1963-1966) on the lacrosse and hockey teams for the Minutemen. Mahoney began his business career in marketing at the Gillette Company where he worked for 21 years and concluded his diverse career, when he sold the office products manufacturing company he owned for 16 years. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of the Foxx Group from 1989 to 2009.

Mahoney, who earned an MBA degree from Northeastern University in 1974, doubles as a visiting professor of marketing in the Manning School of Business for since 2012 (three years). He also served as an adjunct professor for two years (2009-2011) on campus teaching a business class.

A native of Milton, Mass., Mahoney lives in Andover with his wife Martha, where they have raised two grown children (Kelly and Brendan). He has been a member at Andover Country Club since 1978, where he maintains an 11 handicap.
