The Athletics invited him to Spring training camp, but the death of his father forced him to cut short his professional baseball ambitions. Lambert also pitched for the Nashua Dodgers in the Northeast New England League.

After graduation fro LSTC, Lambert taught math and science at Howe Junior High School in Billerica, MA before joining the faulty and administration of Lowell Technological Institute (1963-69).
