Stigas joins the River Hawk staff after spending the 2020-21 campaign as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Northeastern. Before her return to Boston, Stigas spent the 2019-20 season at Massachusetts where she directly assisted the program in all day-to-day operations, including practice and game planning, film breakdown and team travel arrangements. In Stigas's lone season in Amherst, the Minutewomen went 10-10 overall and 6-2 in league action, including an appearance in the Atlantic 10 semifinals. Six Minutewomen earned postseason honors for their efforts, including an NFHCA Division I Northeast Region Second Team Selection capped off by the NFHCA National Academic Team Award.

Collegiately, Stigas was a notable member of the Northeastern field hockey team from 2014-18 and was part of the Huskies squad that won the 2014 CAA regular-season title, the first in program history. A two-time captain, Stigas received three straight invitations to the United States Young Women's National Championship, the selection venue for the U.S. U-21 National Team.
