Biosketch
Noella Teylan-Cashman is the assistant director for Student Athlete Counseling Services. She works with student athletes on campus to provide individual therapy, group programming, and clinical resources. Noella’s special interests include working with injured student athletes, the exploration of identity development, and social justice issues. Noella aims to bring a holistic approach to her work, in efforts to aid clients in thriving throughout the various communities and systems they exist in.
Before stepping into her current role, Noella served as a Counseling Clinician and the Social Justice coordinator in the University’s Counseling Services. Noella provided individual and group therapy to a diverse student population and conducted staff training related to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice initiatives in clinical work.
Noella utilizes a variety of clinical strategies when working with clients, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, person-centered therapy, trauma-informed interventions, and strength-based approaches. Noella strives to empower her clients to be strong agents of change in their own lives.
Outside of working at UML, Noella is the head coach of a nationally ranked collegiate dance team, has the cutest pup named Tala (meaning “bright star” in Tagalog), and will take any opportunity to travel to new places. She is a coffee enthusiast and loves supporting small, independently owned businesses. Her favorite foods, in no particular order, are sushi, ice cream, and spicy noodles.

Biosketch
Courtney Iorio is a Counseling Clinician at UMass Lowell Counseling Services. She works with student athletes providing individual counseling and clinical resources. Courtney's interests include athletic mental game coaching and resiliency. Courtney strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for clients to foster growth and empowerment.
Courtney holds certifications as a Mental Game Coaching Professional and QPR Gatekeeper Trainer and has advanced knowledge in dialectical behavioral therapy. She has had the opportunity to work within a variety of mental health settings including residential, outpatient, school counseling and within municipality departments in Massachusetts. Courtney has over 15 years of clinical and consultative experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan.
Courtney’s endeavors to find “balance” in all of life’s phases and actively seeks to put this into practice. She enjoys being with her husband and their two small children and two dogs - whether they are playing a sport, going on a hike, or enjoying some “relaxation” by the pool or beach. She’s a firm believer in finding the joy in the smallest things and practicing gratitude daily.
