The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by: promoting leadership opportunities, protecting student-athlete welfare, fostering a positive student-athlete image and providing educational and community service opportunities. SAAC membership has evolved beyond the two sport specific members to a more open membership model. SAAC meets every three weeks.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee serves as the collective voice for all student-athletes at UMass Lowell. The general responsibilities of the council are as follows:
- to provide input into the operational procedures that affect student-athletes
- to develop strategies to better involve student-athletes in community-related activities; and
- to disseminate important information to the other members of their teams.
