MacMiller, Van Den Dungen Garner America East Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Two members of the UMass Lowell field hockey team have garnered weekly awards, as announced by the America East Conference office on Tuesday. Sophomore Megan MacMiller (Tarzana, Calif.) has been tabbed the league's Goalkeeper of the Week, while freshman Frédèrique van den Dungen (Rosmalen, Netherlands) has earned Rookie of the Week honors.

MacMiller turned in a flawless second half in the cage for the River Hawks on Sunday, September 27, securing a 2-0 shutout against Brown in the lone game of the week. She turned in four big saves in the final 30 minutes of that contest en route to the victory.

van den Dungen was also a key piece in the win against Brown, as the back played all 60 minutes, helping to fend off nine shots and five corners on the defensive end, while also recording an assist on the game-winning goal.

The River Hawks are back in action on Friday, October 2 when they open conference play against Bryant at Wicked Blue Field at 3 p.m.
