LOWELL, Mass. – Four student-athletes from the UMass Lowell men's and women's indoor track and field teams earned America East All-Academic honors, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Derek Munroe (Tewksbury, Mass.) and junior Brandon Riley (Weymouth, Mass.) represented the men's team, while graduate students Fleur Balogh de Galantha (Grafton, Mass.) and Sarah Ross (Agawam, Mass.) were recognized on the women's side.
With the selection, Munroe becomes a two-time America East All-Academic honoree. He owns a 3.81 graduate GPA in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program after earning a 3.63 undergraduate GPA. On the track, he secured a silver medal in the heptathlon with a school-record 5,301 points at the 2026 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships, while also placing eighth in the pole vault.
Riley earns his first All-Academic nod, holding a 3.82 GPA in Mechanical Engineering while establishing himself as one of the conference's top multi-event athletes. At the America East Indoor Championships, he claimed bronze medals in three events—the 60m hurdles, long jump, and heptathlon—while recording personal-best marks in both the 60m hurdles and long jump.
Balogh de Galantha also garners her first All-Academic Team selection, boasting a 3.92 graduate GPA in Business Administration after earning a 3.85 undergraduate GPA in Graphic Design. At this year's America East Indoor Championships, she captured the pentathlon title with a personal-best 3,496 points and added a 10th-place finish in the high jump.
Ross, a veteran of the list, earns her sixth career All-Academic Team selection. She has also been named the conference's Elite 18 Award winner four times and maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Plastics Engineering. On the track, she placed 12th in the mile and contributed to the fifth-place distance medley relay team.
