Karlijn Kerkhof Earns Offensive Player of the Week Nod

9/23/2025 4:27:00 PM

BOSTON, Mass. – UMass Lowell field hockey junior midfielder Karlijn Kerkhof (Rotterdam, Netherlands) has been named America East Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Kerkhof led the River Hawks to a 2-0 week, totaling three goals to extend her current point streak to six games. She first registered a pair of goals, tying her career high, in a 14-0 victory against New Haven on September 19. Two days later on Sept. 21, she fired in the game-winner in overtime against Kent State for a thrilling, 3-2 decision on Alumni Day.

This marks Kerkhof's first Offensive Player of the Week nod of her career. So far in 2025, she paces the River Hawks with eight goals, five assists and 21 points.

For her efforts, Kerkhof was also tabbed River Hawk of the Week. The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.

Kerkhof and the River Hawks are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 28 when they trek to Brown for a 1 p.m. matchup.
