PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Graduate student
James Kotowski (Stoneham, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell men's track and field team earned himself the title of Penn Relays Champion Saturday afternoon, collecting a first-place performance in the javelin as the lone River Hawk to compete.
Kotowski stepped up to the runway and tossed one a whopping 66.71 meters for the victory, beating out a field of top notch competitors.
"James got the job done in tough conditions," said Head Coach
Gary Gardner. "Pouring rain and 60 isn't ideal but he hes learned to compete. It's not always going to be a personal best day but you need to beat people and that's what he did."
This marks the last time he will throw before the 2025 America East Outdoor Championships from May 3-4 at New Hampshire.
