Mia Mitchell and Jillian Goldie Set To Compete In World Lacrosse Championship

8/15/2024 12:06:00 PM

LOWELL, Mass. – The River Hawks will be well represented at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's U20 Championship, as rising junior Mia Mitchell (Akwesasne, N.Y.) will play for team Haudenosaunee and rising sophomore Jillian Goldie (Owen Sound, Ontario) joins team Canada in Hong Kong.

Canada and the Haudenosaunee were placed in Pool B, competing against each other as well as Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Wales. Both teams have championship aspirations, as Canada earned silver in the last championship and is one of three teams in the tournament who have previously won the championship. Meanwhile, the Haudenosaunee have an experienced roster that most recently took home eighth in the 2022 championship.

The games will begin on Friday, August 16, when the Haudenosaunee begin play against Korea, while Canada starts their run against Wales.  All games can be watched on World Lacrosse TV, with opening day being broadcast for free.
