LOWELL, Mass. – Following their first conference win of the season over New Hampshire, the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (10-3, 1-2 AE) returns to action when they host the Massachusetts Minutewomen (7-4) on Tuesday, April 9, before welcoming the Bryant Bulldogs (8-4, 2-1 AE) to Cushing Field on Saturday, April 13.

Macy Shultz (Adams, N.Y.) and
Grace Lydon (Rowley, Mass.) each scored a career-high five points, as the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (10-3, 1-2 AE) took down the New Hampshire Wildcats (2-9, 0-3 AE), 18-10, on Saturday afternoon at Tucker Field. Shultz and Lydon, who each finished with four goals and an assist, were joined by senior
Megan Brockbank (Bayport, N.Y.) and junior
Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) as River Hawks who finished with a hat trick. Catlin also added two assists for five total points, while freshmen
Chloe Bowers (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) and
Jillian Goldie (Owen Sound, Ontario) both chipped in with two goals and an assist. In net, freshman
Alexa Kuhn (Rocky Point, N.Y.) made four saves in the start.

HITTING THE ROAD
Earlier this season, the River Hawks embarked on a season-long six-game road trip, that lasted over a month. During the road trip, UMass Lowell posted a 4-2 record and recorded double-digit goals in all but one match. Though the trip was highlighted by a 21-2 victory over Gardner-Webb, the River Hawks also nearly pulled off an upset victory over #23 Brown, falling 15-14 in the final minutes.
GONE STREAKING
With the victory over Presbyterian, the River Hawks tallied their eighth straight win, setting the program record for most wins in a row and most wins in a season.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Anchored by multiple seasoned veterans, UMass Lowell's defense has been a key part of the team's success thus far. Through the first 13 games, the defensive unit ranks 18th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing only 9.23 goals per game, propelling the River Hawks to the 13th-best scoring margin in the country (+5.85). Meanwhile, the team also tallies 9.38 caused turnovers per game, good for the 29th most in Division I, while Kuhn ranks 16th among all goalkeepers with only 9.38 goals allowed per game.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Bowers paces the squad with 38 goals and 45 points and adds 19 draw controls after the first 13 games, while Brockbank and Goldie each total a team-high 13 assists. Right behind Bowers, Catlin has tallied 34 goals, including a program-record eight against Winthrop, and ranks second on her team with 15 ground balls. On defense, graduate studentÂ
Julia Napolitano (Oakdale, N.Y.) posts a team-best 19 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers, including a season-high four in the win over LIU. In net, all four goalkeepers have seen time, with Kuhn leading the River Hawks with 92 saves in 613 minutes, good for a 8-3 record.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT
The freshmen have left their mark early on UMass Lowell, as Bowers has been named America East Rookie of the Week four times, Goldie has earned the honor three times, and Kuhn has been tabbed the America East Defensive Player of the Week twice. In the season opener, Bowers had a record-setting day, scoring five goals and totaling six points, both program records for a player in their collegiate debut. Kuhn was stellar in her first two starts, making nine saves against Stonehill and 16 against Quinnipiac to help lead her team to a 2-0 week. This week, Goldie earned her third weekly honor after posting a six-point performance in the win over Boston University, before adding two goals and an assist to help her squad earn its first conference win of the season over New Hampshire.

SCOUTING MASSACHUSETTS
The Minutewomen come to Lowell amid a six-game winning streak, most recently taking down Duquesne, 20-7. Attack Fiona McGowan leads the team with 55 points, while Kassidy Morris sits right behind her with 49 points, including a team-high 37 goals. On defense, Audra Tosone leads her squad with 25 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers, while also adding 24 draw controls. In net, Catrina Tobin has started all 11 games, making 71 saves and allowing 106 goals, good for a .401 save percentage.
SCOUTING BRYANT
Bryant makes its way to Lowell following a 21-10 win over Vermont. Led by Kenna Kaut, who totals 55 goals for 58 points, the Bryant offense features six double-digit goal scorers. The team's assist leader, Peyton Woodward, currently posts 28 assists alongside 19 goals, good for 47 points, ranking second on the team. Freshman Jessica Wilhelm owns a team-high 19 caused turnovers while adding 19 ground balls and 20 draw controls. In net, Sam Centofante has started all 12 games, allowing 134 goals and making 91 saves, good for a .404 save percentage.
A WIN WOULD
A win against Massachusetts would mark the first win over the Minutewomen and would extend the program record for most wins in a season. If the River Hawks followed up with a win over the Bulldogs, it would mark the second straight victory in conference play, as well as the second win over Bryant in program history.

MATCHUP HISTORY
UMass Lowell and Massachusetts have battled five times, with the Minutewomen owning a 5-0 record. Last season, the two teams battled to a 5-5 score at the half, but the hosts pulled away in the third quarter to claim a 16-7 victory. Meanwhile, the River Hawks and Bryant have faced each other seven times, with Bryant owning a 6-1 record in those games. Last season UMass Lowell fell on the road, 18-5, in the first America East match between the two teams.
