LOWELL, Mass. – Junior Mary-Kate Finn (Nashua, N.H.) claimed 23rd place in the women's gold 6k to lead the UMass Lowell women's cross country team at the Paul Short Run Saturday morning at Lehigh.

"The women ran well as a team, but individually, I don't think anyone was close to maxing out their ability," said Head Coach Gary Gardner. "We are pleased for today but we know things will get better from here."

Finn crossed the finish line with a time of 20:38.1, while graduate student Mary Yount (Northampton, Mass.) was the second River Hawk to cross, taking 135th place with a 21:42.6 mark. In 242nd place was graduate student Rachel Thomas (Perry Hall, Md.) with a 22:28.6 mark, as freshman Georgia Brooks (Groton, Mass.) followed in 314th with a time of 23:20.9.
