LOWELL, Mass. — Senior Delaney Swanson (Swanzey, N.H.) checks in at 49th place in the women's 5k, helping lead the UMass Lowell women's cross country team to 16th place at the NEICAAA Cross Country Championships at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. Swanson crossed the finish line at 19:08.03.
Just behind her was freshman Raihana Yameogo, who earned a 19:22.05 mark for 66th place for UMass Lowell.
"Delaney and Raihana bounced back from last Saturday and performed great," said Head Coach Gary Gardner. "It's good to see see depth with the women and they continue to improve."
Junior Kylie Marion (Baldwinville, Mass.) (111th, 20:07.01) was followed by sophomore Lena Takahashi (Holden, Mass.) (127th, 20:40.01) and freshman Lauren Long (Lunenburg, Mass.) (132nd, 20:44.11) who rounded out the River Hawk runners in the women's 5k.
Next up, the River Hawks will travel to the Pre-National Invitational in Madison, Wis. next Saturday, October 19.
