River Hawks Compete at Day Two of the John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass.— A handful of the UMass Lowell women's track & field team traveled to the Track and Tennis Center in Boston to compete in the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University.
 
The event kicked off for the River Hawks with graduate student Kenzie Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) competing in the 1-mile event. The Massachusetts native crossed the finish line in 22nd, recording a new personal best with a 4:41.20 mark.
 
Two River Hawks competed in the 5000-meter run, with both finishing in the top 50 of the event. Sophomore Mary-Kate Finn (Nashua, N.H.) was the first River Hawk to cross the line, taking 18th with a 16:32.44 mark and crushing her previous personal best by 33 seconds. Sophomore Kylie Marion (Baldwinville, Mass.) was next to cross the finish line, recording a new personal best time of 17:54.06 to earn 40th place.

"I'm excited to see what the back half of the season has in store for us," said Associate Head Coach Ally Waruch.

Next, the River Hawks travel to Boston University to participate in the Bruce Lehane Scarlett Invitational, held at the Track and Tennis Center from February 2-3.
