LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (6-6, 0-3 AE) returns home to take on the Dartmouth Big Green (3-7) on Tuesday, April 11, at 7 p.m., before resuming conference play against UMBC (6-5, 0-3 AE) on Saturday, April 15, at noon at UMBC Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT
UMass Lowell enters the week with a 6-6 record after mounting an 11-9 comeback victory against Boston University last Wednesday. Senior Izzy Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) tallied four goals and an assist for a game-high five points. Tying Liquori, sophomore Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) recorded two goals and three assists for five points. Senior Grace Hansen (Stamford, Conn.) totaled three goals for her second straight hat trick, while junior Megan Brockbank (Bayport, N.Y.) chipped in with two goals. Junior Emerson Laundry (Swampscott, Mass.) was all over the stat sheet with four ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover. Defensively, senior Caroline Klim (Wrentham, Mass.) led the squad with three caused turnovers, and freshman Hannah Shaddock (Corning, N.Y.) made 12 saves in net.
LEADING THE FLOCK
Catlin leads the River Hawks through 12 games with 43 points off 25 goals and 18 assists. Behind her in points, senior Molly Shaw (Marshfield, Mass.) ranks first on the squad with 26 goals. Napolitano leads the defense with a team-high 21 caused turnovers and paces the team with 44 draw control victories. Right behind her in both categories, junior Emerson Laundry (Swampscott, Mass.) totals 20 caused turnovers and 37 draw controls. One of the top teams in the nation in ground balls, Napolitano leads the squad with 32 ground balls, while senior Caroline Klim (Wrentham, Mass.) totals 29 on the year.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
The Big Green arrive at Cushing Field following a 16-9 victory over Brown. Dartmouth's offense is led by attack Katina Christensen who has totaled 20 goals and 5 assists on the season, while attack Catherine Erb tallies a team-high 22 goals. On the draw, Isabella Godsick leads the squad with 52 draw control victories, while defender Nieve Donegan paces the team with 10 caused turnovers. In net, sophomore Gisele Todd has started ten games, making 88 saves for a .429 save percentage in 558 minutes of action.
SCOUTING UMBC
The Retrievers welcome the River Hawks to Baltimore after losing their last three matches. UMBC's offense features two of the top goal scorers in America East, as Claire Bockstie ranks fourth in goals per game (3.09) while Lauren Cremen rounds out the top ten (2.45). Kennedy Evans ranks third in the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.1) while also adding 16 ground balls and 21 draw control victories on the season. In net, junior Isabella Fontana has started all 11 games, making 107 saves for a .465 save percentage in 660 minutes of action.

A WIN WOULD
A win against the Big Green would move the River Hawks to 7-6 on the season and would mark the first win against Dartmouth in program history. If the River Hawks take down UMBC, it would be the team's first conference win of the season and the first win ever against the Retrievers.

DARTMOUTH MATCHUP HISTORY
The River Hawks and Big Green have met three times, with Dartmouth claiming victory in each match. When they met last in 2018, Taylor Sokol recorded a team-high five points off four goals and an assist, but Dartmouth came out on top, 18-7.
UMBC MATCHUP HISTORY
The River Hawks and Retrievers have faced off seven times, with UMBC holding a 7-0 record. When they faced off last season, the River Hawks held a slight edge, 11-10, with under eight minutes to play. However, the Retrievers scored two unanswered goals, including one with 15 seconds remaining, to pull off a 12-11 victory. In that match, Abby McLaughlin led the River Hawk offense, tallying four points off two goals and two assists.Â
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The River Hawks' defense has proven to be the key to success, as they currently rank 15th in the country in caused turnovers per game (9.83). Even more impressive, the team sits sixth in ground balls per game (19.33).
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
After scoring her 83rd career goal earlier in the season against Stonehill, senior Izzy Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) surpassed Taylor Sokol to become the UMass Lowell all-time goal scorer.
CONFERENCE HONORS
The rookies have played a huge role for the River Hawks, as they have garnered five America East Rookie of the Week awards that were given out by the conference. Most recently, freshman Audra Hansen (Stamford, Ct.) tallied three goals and caused two turnovers against UAlbany to earn last week's Rookie of the Week, her third of the season (2/27, 3/6, 4/3). Before her, Shaddock opened the season with a 2-1 record while making 31 saves in net to earn the first two Rookie of the Week awards of the season (2/13, 2/20).
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Not only are the River Hawks succeeding on the field, but they also continue to help within the community. Senior captain Grace Hansen (Stamford, Conn.) currently serves as the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee while also volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell. Meanwhile, senior Caroline Klim (Wrentham, Mass.) continues her role as an ambassador of Morgan's Message, an organization striving to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community
