BOSTON, Mass. – UMass Lowell women's lacrosse freshman goalkeeper
Hannah Shaddock (Corning, N.Y.) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
In Saturday's season opener against UMass Amherst, Shaddock faced 39 shots, making 13 saves for a .448 save percentage. The freshman's stellar defense held the Minutewomen to only one goal in the second quarter, helping the River Hawks knot up the score heading into halftime.
In addition to being named the America East Rookie of the Week, Shaddock's performance also earned her River Hawk of the Week. The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
