BRIGHTON, Mass. – UMass Lowell has been named the host school for the 2024 Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships, as announced by the NCAA. The River Hawks, in partnership with New Balance and Boston College, successfully won the bid to host the national finals at the brand new TRACK at new balance at Boston Landing in Brighton, Mass. on March 8 and 9, 2024.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships to Massachusetts and host for the first time as a university," said UMass Lowell Director of Athletics Peter Casey. "Earning this bid would not have been be possible without our partners at New Balance and the incredible new facility that they are building. We look forward to working closely with them over the next several years to put on a first-class event."

The event will bring 400 of the best track and field student-athletes from around the country to Boston for the two-day competition, marking the first time these championships have been held in the Northeast since the NCAA's inception in 1965.

"UMass Lowell is excited to be partnering with New Balance in hosting the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships," commented Track and Field Head Coach Gary Gardner. "It was clear from our first meeting with New Balance leadership that the vision they had for the event matched the university's and a fruitful relationship was born. At UMass Lowell, Chancellor Moloney, Director of Athletics Peter Casey, and the entire athletic department made this bid a priority, so we are happy beyond words to have it become a reality. We can't wait to continue building on our relationship with New Balance, as we prepare to host the NCAA National Championships at what may truly be the best indoor track facility in the United States."

In April 2019, the TRACK at new balance broke ground to kick off the construction of a multi-sport complex with seating for 5,000 spectators and featuring a 200-meter indoor track. Recently opened, the TRACK is the heart of Boston Landing, centrally located within the development to complement the New Balance World Headquarters, world class office and lab buildings, a 295-unit luxury residential building, and the Bruins and Celtics practice and training facilities. Both days of the Indoor Track and Field Championships will be open to the public and tickets will be available in the months leading up to the event.

"The TRACK will offer a pinnacle sports experience for athletes, and this is exactly the type of iconic event for which it is intended," said Tom Carleo, Vice President, Running and Footwear Innovation, New Balance. "Boston and New Balance are synonymous with running so the opportunity to host the best, brightest and fastest college athletes here is an incredible one that is also a natural fit."
