BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Head coach
Lisa Miller reached earned her milestone 200
th career win as the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (3-10, 1-3 AE) took down the Binghamton Bearcats (6-6, 1-2 AE), 11-9, Saturday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

Leading the way for the River Hawks offense were junior
Molly Shaw (Marshfield, Mass.) and freshman
Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) who each recorded a hat trick. Right behind them were juniors
Izzy Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) and
Abby McLaughlin (Walpole, Mass.) who tallied two goals each. Rounding out the scoring for the River Hawks was junior
Anna Bauter (Dexter, N.Y.) who recorded a goal, and sophomore
Megan Brockbank (Bayport, N.Y.) who added in two assists. In net, graduate student
Alex Salim (East Islip, N.Y.) tallied 10 saves with a .526 save percentage.
The game opened with an offensive shootout between the two teams, with the Bearcats striking first, scoring a goal less than a minute into the game. Three minutes later, the River Hawks battled back, tying the game off McLaughlin's first goal of the game. Less than three minutes later, Binghamton would tally back-to-back goals to take a 3-1 lead, their largest lead of the game. In the final five minutes of the opening quarter, Shaw and McLaughlin would both tally a goal, with the Bearcats grabbing one as well, to cut the Binghamton lead to 4-3.
In the second quarter, UMass Lowell was firing on all cylinders, tallying four straight goals by Shaw, Catlin and Liquori, to take a 7-4 lead. The defense locked down the Binghamton offense, recording multiple big stops and saves to hold them scoreless for nearly the entire quarter. With 30 seconds left in the half, Binghamton found the back of the net twice, making it a one goal game at the break.
The River Hawks continued with their strong performance to start the second half, with Liquori firing the ball into the back of the net off a free-position shot, extending the lead back to two. Both teams continued battling, each netting two goals through the remainder of the third, giving the River Hawks the 10-8 lead with 15 minutes to play.
In the final quarter, the UMass Lowell defense continued to hold strong, not allowing a goal for over seven minutes of play. However, the Bearcats did finally break through, tallying a goal with 7:40 remaining, making it a one-goal game. With just over four minutes to play, Bauter took a pass from Brockbank and fired it past the goalie, securing the 11-9 win for the River Hawks.
