LOWELL, Mass. – Coming off a hard-fought loss, the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (2-6, 0-0 AE) will finally return home to Cushing Field to take on the Vermont Catamounts (6-1, 0-0 AE) on Saturday afternoon.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Freshman Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) scored a career-high five goals alongside two assists to lead the River Hawk offense. Junior Izzy Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) added in three goals, while juniors Molly Shaw (Marshfield, Mass.) and Grace Hansen (Stamford, Conn.) as well as redshirt freshman Emily Stratton (Camillus, N.Y.) all added in a goal.
 
LEADING THE FLOCK
Junior Molly Shaw (Marshfield, Mass.) has scored 16 goals leading the River Hawks through eight games. Stratton's 14 goals and five assists give her a team high 19 points, while junior Caroline Klim (Wrentham, Mass.) leads the defense with 14 caused turnovers. Catlin's 39 draw control victories and graduate student Alex Salim's (East Islip, N.Y.) 40 saves both lead the team.
 
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
Vermont comes to Lowell coming off a 16-11 victory over Manhattan. The Catamounts are led offensively by midfielder Ava Vasile, who has tallied a team-high 20 goals and is second on the team with eight assists. In net, Sophie McLaughlin has totaled 45 saves with a .433 save percentage in over 365 minutes of playing time.
 
A WIN WOULD
A win would give head coach Lisa Miller her career 200^th win, as well as start the River Hawks off with a 1-0 conference record.
