LOWELL, Mass. – Kyle Medolo has been named Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, as announced by UMass Lowell Senior Associate Athletic Director/SWA Sandra Roecker on Thursday. Medolo, a UMass Lowell alumnus, returns to the Mill City after serving as the Assistant Director for Compliance at Boston College.

His responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day compliance responsibilities of UMass Lowell Athletics pertaining to NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations.

"It is always a great day when you can bring a River Hawk back to UMass Lowell," said Roecker. "Kyle's knowledge of the inner workings of Division I processes and procedures, great communication skills and energy working with coaches and staff, and detail of work are what made him a perfect fit. Most importantly, his approach to working with the student-athletes and community will continue to move our department forward."

While in Chestnut Hill, Medolo was responsible for overseeing and managing the athletic scholarship program and provided interpretive guidance on NCAA legislation for the Eagles' Athletics Department. He also helped advance and organize education initiatives, presentations and guidance for all coaches, administrators, student-athletes and affiliates at Boston College.

"I am overjoyed to be a River Hawk again and so thankful for the opportunity. This is an incredible time to be rejoining my alma mater, as it is surging both academically and athletically on an international level," expressed Medolo. "It is going to be a tremendous pleasure to work with Peter [Casey] and Sandie [Roecker], and foster their vision for this department. I cannot wait to provide our student-athletes with an unforgettable, world-class experience and help them, and our staff, navigate the ever-changing landscape of college athletics."

Prior to his time at BC, Medolo was a compliance coordinator at Northeastern University. With the Huskies, he developed department policy and staff compliance correspondence, and created and conducted educational sessions for student-athletes and staff on NCAA precedent and bylaws.

Medolo received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from UMass Lowell in May 2012 before completing his J.D. from the Northeastern University School of Law in May 2017.
