LOWELL, Mass. – Looking for their first win of the season, the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (0-1, 0-0 America East) will head to Worcester to take on Holy Cross Crusaders (0-1, 0-0 Patriot League) Friday evening, before heading home to face the Marist Red Foxes (0-0, 0-0 MAAC) Sunday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
UMass Lowell enters the weekend with a 0-1 (0-0 AE) record after falling to Massachusetts, 18-4, in the 2022 season opener. Junior Molly Shaw (Marshfield, Mass.) and redshirt freshman Emily Stratton (Camillus, N.Y.) led the River Hawks with two goals each. Sophomore Megan Brockbank (Bayport, N.Y.) added in a team high two assists, while freshmen Jade Catlin (Middletown, Md.) and Daia Hansford (Bowie, Md.) led UMass Lowell with three draw controls each.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Molly Shaw and Emily Stratton each have tallied two goals to lead the River Hawks. Megan Brockbamk has tallied a team-best two assists, giving her two points on the season. Daia Hansford and Jade Catlin both add in three draw controls, while Abby McLaughling and Julia Napolitano total two caused turnovers each.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
The Crusaders enter Friday's game after dropping their season opener to Fairfield, 18-8, this past weekend. Lauren Drillock led the team with two goals, while six other players added in a goal as well. As a team, Holy Cross won 17 of 30 draw controls, led by Lindsay Hult who recorded seven draw control victories. In net, the Crusaders split time between Grace Flink and Tori Cini, with Cini recording six saves and allowing only three goals in 15 minutes of action.

SCOUTING MARIST
Having not yet played this season, Marist will continue to build off last year when they finished with a 3-5 record. With their top three goal scorers from last season no longer on the team, the Red Foxes will look to Kerri Gutenberger on offense, who recorded 17 goals on 45 shots during the 2021 campaign. Marist will begin to establish a new core of players on the defensive side after losing their ground ball and caused turnover from last season.

A WIN WOULD
A win would be the first of victory of the season for the River Hawks and would also move head coach Lisa Miller two wins shy of career win number 200.

MATCHUP HISTORY
Friday's matchup will be the third between UMass Lowell and Holy Cross. The series is tied 1-1, with the Crusaders winning the last matchup, 13-5, on February 16, 2020. The matchup Sunday will be only the second time the River Hawks have faced Marist. In the first matchup, the Red Foxes were able to pull away with a 15-10 victory on March 10, 2020.
