LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell field hockey standouts Jenna Berger (Waterloo, Ontario) and Alissia de Vries (The Hague, Netherlands) have garnered 2022 NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region honors, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Berger received an All-Region First Team nod after being tabbed to the Second Team in 2021. De Vries earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team.

"Jenna and Ali have proven themselves to be two of the best players in the region and we are honored that the regional coaches agreed," said Head Coach Shannon LeBlanc. "They are both tremendously skillful and had a meaningful impact in each and every game we played.

Berger, a 2022 team captain, became a two-time America East All-Conference First Team selection this season, after starting all 19 games. Berger has now earned First Team accolades in back-to-back seasons. This year, she led the team with a personal-best nine goals and 24 total points. With six assists this season, she has also taken the top spot on the program's Division I record list for career helpers (24).

De Vries, a two-time America East Second Team selection, paced the River Hawks with eight assists, good for a career-best mark. She added two goals and finished third on the team with a personal-best 12 points.

The River Hawks were two of 14 America East student-athletes to be tabbed to an All-Region squad. The National Field Hockey Coaches' Association honors 160 student-athletes with All-Region Honors at the Division I level, divided among five regions.
