BOSTON -- Freshman Izzy Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week for her five-goal performance at UConn last Friday.
 
Leading the way for the River Hawks, Liquori provided the team with the opening goal in the second to equalize the score against the Huskies, going on to notch two more before the final horn rang. Rounding out her performance the rookie snagged a career-high seven draw controls for 46 percent of the wins on the day.
 
So far this season, Liquori has won 15 draw controls to rank her third in the America East. The midfielder helped the squad pick up their season opener win against Central Connecticut, posting her first collegiate goal for a grand total of six goals on the season to top all River Hawks. Averaging 6.33 shots per game Liquori places second among conference opponents with a team-best .737 shooting percentage.
 
This marks Liquori's first ever America East weekly honor and the first for the nod for the River Hawks this season.
