LOWELL, Mass. – The River Hawks play host to a pair of games, taking on No.17 Massachusetts in a Kennedy Cup Challenge on Monday afternoon, followed by a Friday matchup with Bryant. Both games are set for 3:30 p.m. on Cushing Field.

LETS REWIND…
Freshman Izzy Liquori notched a career-best five goals on the day, as the River Hawks fell, 20-14, to UConn on Friday afternoon at the Sherman Family Sport Complex.

Coach Quotes: "I thought we played hard," stated head coach Lisa Miller. "I give the team a lot of credit, finishing out the game strong. I would've liked to have a few more possessions in the second half but overall I was happy with how the group went after it today."

SCOUTING #17 UMASS
The Minutewomen (1-1) come to Lowell after opening their season with a 15-11 win against No. 5 Boston College, followed by a 15-11 loss to No. 22 Dartmouth last Saturday. Over the two games senior Kaitlyn Cerasi has collected 12 points (7g, 5a) to lead all players. Junior Ally Murphy has recorded four draw controls, while Caitlyn Petro has snagged 16 draw controls.

This will be the second matchup between the two programs with their first in the inaugural season back in 2015, unfortunately with the River Hawks coming out with a 18-4 loss.

SCOUTING BRYANT
The Bulldogs (3-1) are coming off a two-game week, picking up a dominating 12-2 victory over Manhattan and fellow America East foe Vermont, 12-8. Bryant's only loss of the season comes from Brown, falling 12-7 on their home field. Caitlin Breglia (8g, 3a) and Alexa Weber (10g, 1a) have 11 points apiece to lead the Bulldogs offensively. Megan McCarthy has secured 22 draws over the four games.

Bryant owns a 4-1 overall record against the River Hawks. The River Hawks only win against the Bulldogs came in 2017 after a thrilling 10-9 overtime victory.

THEME OF THE DAY
The Kennedy Cup Challenge: Established in the fall of 2018 and is awarded annually to the team with the most wins in the cumulative season series between the UMass Lowell and UMass Amherst.

HATS OFF TO YOU
With heavy numbers in the freshmen class it's no wonder these young River Hawks are making a name for themselves. Izzy Liquori saw her best game against UConn picking up five goals in the outing while fellow classmate Abby McLaughlin grabbed four goals in the season opener against CCSU.

INSIDE THE PIPES
Freshman Madison Grazidei has had a great start to the year leading the River Hawks to a season opener win. Grazidei sits in third among America East players with her 8.67 saves per game. Her 13.33 goals against average and .394 save percentage ranks her at number eight in the conference.

MILESTONE MARKERS
Hana Caster is leading the team in draw controls with a total of 19 draw controls over three games giving her 6.3 draw controls per game which places her top 30 in the NCAA. Caster's impressive tally of 9 draw controls in the win over Central Connecticut places her in the record books for the second most draw controls in a game just behind Kelly Moran with 10 draw controls just last year. Through three games this season Caster has a total of 130 total draw controls on her career and puts her only 29 draw controls away from the current record of 159 held by Kelly Moran.

OFFENSIVE POWERHOUSE
The River Hawks sit at the top of the conference standings with 25.67 shots on goal per game, including shots per game (36.37) and shot percentage (.300). Liquori and McLaughlin's six shots on goal in their respective games is tied for 22nd among all players in Division I.
