LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (3-5) remains on the road in its last game before opening conference play, taking on Sacred Heart on Saturday, March 16 at 3 p.m.

The River Hawks earned a 15-8 win against Merrimack at home last week before falling to Wagner, 17-3, on the road.

Scouting Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart is searching for its first win of 2019 with a 0-5 record. The Pioneers have already faced two America East opponents, falling to New Hampshire, 16-5, and Vermont, 16-4. They also dropped an 8-7 overtime game to Iona, a team that the River Hawks beat by a 15-8 margin. Senior Hanna Wise leads the way with nine goals, while goalkeeper Shana Hecht holds a 14.28 GAA and .473 save percentage.
Series History
The Pioneers and River Hawks are knotted up at 2-2 in series history, with the River Hawks most recently winning, 18-9, in 2018.
Kristina Keith (East Kingston, N.H.) led the way with four goals, while
Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) tallied two goals and three assists. Eight different River Hawks scored in that game.
Weekly Awards
Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) was named America East Defensive Player of the Week on March 11 after notching seven draw controls, six ground balls and eight caused turnovers through two games. She currently leads the America East in caused turnovers per game.Â
Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) took home weekly defensive honors on March 4, while Keith earned AE Offensive Player of the Week after a program-record, seven-goal game.
Win Streak
UMass Lowell notched a three-game win streak from Feb. 27 through March 5, with victories against Holy Cross, Iona and Merrimack. That was the longest win streak since the River Hawks won six straight in March of 2017.
Goals on Goals
The River Hawks scored 34 goals in the first three games of 2019, which was the most goals they've scored through the first three games of the season in program history. They now have 91 on the season (11.38 per game). Ten different River Hawks have scored goals this season, while 12 have tallied at least one point.
Record-Breaker
Keith tallied seven goals against Holy Cross, a new program record. She now has a team-leading 21 on the season and has moved into second place all-time in goals at UMass Lowell.

Gonzalez In Goal
Renee Gonzalez allowed just five goals against Holy Cross, and then eight against Iona, her two lowest goals allowed totals on the season. She had a season-high 13 saves against Iona and now has a 12.00 GAA in 2019.
M&M
Paige MacEachern (Lynnfield, Mass.) andÂ
Cameron McKelvin (Westminster, Md.) have been offensive powerhouses this season. McKelvin had five goals at Fresno State, while MacEachern had six goals against Boston University a week later. MacEachern surpassed her 2018 goal total in just the first three games in 2019 and now has 20 goals on the season, which leads the team. McKelvin has scored 18 goals on just 26 shots for a team-high .692 shot percentage. Both McKelvin and MacEachern are now on the top-10 all-time goals list at UMass Lowell.
Solo Scoring
UMass Lowell has scored 40 unassisted goals this season, 11 of those coming from MacEachern.
Under Pressure
The River Hawks had a season-high 11 caused turnovers at Boston University, three of them fromÂ
Gabby Torain (Glen Burnie, Md.). Through four games, Torain exceeded her caused turnover total from last year and now has 11. Caster leads the way with 17.
Milestone Watch
Kelly Moran (Exeter, N.H.) tallied four draw controls against Colgate, tallying her 100
th career draw control in the process. She is already at the top of the record books in all-time draw controls with 123. Caster moved into second place all-time in draw controls at Wagner, now with 78. At Boston University,
Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) hit the 100-point mark and is now second all-time in scoring with 107 points, needing just three more to reach first place.
Strength in Seniors
The River Hawks boast a veteran squad with 10 seniors, a class that combined for 113 points in 2018.
